Day 1 & 2 – Travel from Missouri to Denver

After lunch, we’ll visit the Museum of Independent Telephony, which highlights telephone history including the first phone installed in Kansas in 1877. We’ll spend tonight in Salina, KS. On Day 2, we explore the Limon Railroad Museum, including the caboose and dining car from the 1940s. Later, we’ll board the modern-day train you’ll continue on tomorrow in Denver, CO. (B,L)

Day 3 – Amtrak California Zephyr (Denver to Glenwood Springs)

Today we board the Amtrak California Zephyr and travel through the mountains and gorges toward Glenwood Springs, CO. Enjoy winter scenery from a beautiful viewing car and lunch on board. After arriving in Glenwood Springs, we’ll check into our hotel and enjoy a comedy show at the Glenwood Vaudeville Revue. (B,D)

Day 4 – Amtrak California Zephyr (Glenwood Springs to Denver)

We’ll enjoy a relaxing morning in Glenwood Springs before boarding the Amtrak California Zephyr at 11:30 am. Lunch is provided on the train; dinner is on your own. We’ll arrive in Denver around 6:15 pm and then head to the hotel. (B,L)

Day 5 & 6 – Travel from Denver to Missouri

On Day 5, we visit the Sternberg Museum of Natural History on our way to Salina, KS. (B,L) On Day 6, we travel home to Missouri, looking for an interesting stop along the way. (B,L)
